That's why the Legislative internship program was designed – to give global citizens like you a distinct advantage and propel you towards success.
Meet our American visiting student Sandra Avitia from CalState Long Beach University. Last Fall semester 2022, Sandra interned at the French Senate and at our partner's international Law offices in Paris,
French students intern in the Congress of the United States in Washington, D.C.
Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in this program wether in France or in the United States, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a French and/or U.S. citizen
- Be a college senior, a recent college graduate (no more than 18 months post-graduation); or a graduate student
- English and French skills necessary to function in an American or French work environment
- Have a GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Hold a valid passport and a VISA for non US or French citizen.

Program Components
You will intern at your assigned internship site four to five days per week. Time spent at your internship site will help you gain professional experience and a competitive edge in the job market. Each week, you’ll attend sessions and workshops on core professional competencies to further build on your newly developed skills and strategize about your career path opportunities. You’ll also have numerous opportunities to network with professionals at special events and conferences.
